flickr: technology sucks

Apparently Flickr, or possibly Firefox, is not happy when you try to upload 2.51GB of photos in one go.  My poor little machine spent all night on it, only got 20% finished, and has now frozen and refuses to do anything else.  Phooey.

Edit: predictably enough, it looks like the problem is really with Firefox on Ubuntu or possibly the leaky-as-all-hell Flash plugin for it. After spending 90 minutes this morning copying the pictures to a MacBook, Firefox/OSX is humming right along uploading to flickr.

No! Do not! Anyway, I'm uploading 'em now from a Mac and everything seems fine. Teach me right.

I highly recommend Flickr Uploadr.

The built-in Flash uploader worked fine after I did it from a computer that isn't held together with spit and baling wire. Uploadr wouldn't work from my wheezy Linux box anyway, but I'll keep it in mind for the MacBook.

I'm glad it worked! I just mean in an ongoing way... check it out for the macbook. The new version for the mac is fantastic at allowing you to very flexibly add tags and add photos to sets and so on before uploading, with an interface that's way easier than Flickr's.
